Counselling Psychologist
Practice Owner
Kristi De Young
I have been working as a psychologist since 2008.
Originally from San Antonio, Texas I began my career as a psychologist in Australia and have worked with schools, young people, adults and parents. I am a registered Supervisor.

I have an interest in working with a wide range of clients and issues utilising a person-centred holistic and integrative approach. I believe that being human is hard sometimes and we all need support, guidance, safety and compassion. In therapy we explore the past to discover patterns in order to heal the present and thrive in the future. I work with issues like Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Grief and Loss, Adolescent issues, and provide parenting support.

I am eclectic in my approach but I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brain Development, Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Compassion Focused therapy, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory and trauma informed approaches. I have also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I work with a lot of individuals in the neurodivergent community either with people coming to terms with their recent diagnosis or learning to manage their child/spouse diagnosis.

I am a proud boy mom and can often be spotted cheering from a sporting field on weekends and after work.
